The indoor snow centre in Manchester has fired up its lifts. It closed last March and follows other indoor slopes that are now running.
The main slope at the Chill Factore opened at midday today.
“As you might expect, we have had to make a few changes to ensure that our environment is as safe as possible for both our guests and our team,” said a statement from the Chill Factore.”As a result of that, for the first week only, hourly lift passes will be available.
“From Monday 24th August 2020 ski and snowboard lessons will run in a new format and Snow Park will also be available.

During lockdown the Chill Factore was used for another purpose as it used its cold temperatures to store food.
It is now being used, once again, for its primary purpose – skiing and snowboarding.
The snow guns are now on after staying silent for a while.
Here are the changes:
– Reduced activity/product portfolio
– A reduction in opening hours
– Social distancing of 2 metres apart where possible.
– Team members wearing gloves and face coverings
– Cashless payment only
– Pre-booking online only
– Different (and one-way) layout of the Changing Village and wider building
– No changing cubicles or lockers
– No rental clothing

Social distancing rules mean that the centre is unable to offer group lessons or snow school.
Instead its new Friends & Family lessons will be available for either individuals, or a group of friends & family from the same household or support bubble who don’t need to socially distance from one another.
