Scotland Ski Areas Shut Up Shop

Nevis Range cancelled a while back before even opening, then Cairngorm closed just as it opened. Now others are being order to close to stop the spread of Covid-19.
This is the post from Glencoe today:
“We are really sorry to report that all uplift, ski hire, ski school, cafes and accommodation are now closed until at least the end of January.
“Unfortunately, despite our best efforts to create a covid safe environment for local people (limit we had was just 200 skiers or snowboarders per day) Government advice is that we now have to close.
“The physical and mental health benefits of outdoor exercise are well documented so we will be doing everything in our power to be ready to re-open as soon as we are allowed.”
People in Scotland are being ordered to stay at home.
The First Minister, Nicola Sturgeon, said new curbs would be introduced at midnight in a bid to contain the new, faster-spreading strain of the virus.
New laws will require people to stay at home and work from home where possible.
Skiing in resorts is not an option.
Outdoor gatherings are also to be cut back, with people only allowed to meet one person from one other household.
These rules will apply across the Scottish mainland until at least the end of January, and will be kept under review.

The Lecht has also followed suit and made this announcement on Monday:
“We are very sorry to say that Government Restrictions announced this afternoon now mean that all Scottish Ski Centres will be completely closed after today 4th January.
“This is devastating news and will disappoint many of you.
“At this stage we do not know when we will be able to open again.
“Thank you for your support.”
